Smart PDU with Remote Power Cycling
and Over-Voltage Cut-Off

A frozen access point, a router that needs a reboot, a supply that spikes overnight — power problems cost you uptime, and they usually mean someone driving to site. The WinFi SmartPDU closes that gap.

Six outlets, up to 16 A. It meters the power feeding your equipment, cuts it the moment the voltage turns unsafe, and power cycles everything on it from the WinFi dashboard, wherever you are.

Most outages start with power — and most are fixed by a reboot

The SmartPDU lets you find the cause in the data and fix it remotely.

A reboot means a site visit

Without remote power control, restarting a frozen router or access point means sending someone on site.

Bad power goes unnoticed

Over-voltage, current spikes and overloads damage equipment quietly until something fails.

No view of your power

Without metering you cannot see the voltage, current or energy use at a site until something breaks.

What the SmartPDU does

Power data and power control for the equipment in your rack, in the WinFi dashboard.

Energy, voltage and current metering

Real-time energy consumption, supply voltage and total current draw for the whole unit, so you see a problem building before it becomes a fault.

Remote power cycling

Restart everything on the PDU — router, switch, access points, modem — from the dashboard in seconds, without dispatching a technician. All six outlets switch together.

Power issue detection

Catch over-voltage, inrush current spikes, overloads and under-voltage early, before a fault turns into downtime.

Automatic over-voltage cut-off

When the mains supply crosses the safe limit, the SmartPDU disconnects all six outlets within milliseconds — no one has to be on site to decide.

E-mail alerts

You are told when power is cut and again when the supply is back in the safe range, with live readings so you can confirm before restoring power.

Works with or without WinGuard

The SmartPDU runs on its own from the WinFi dashboard. If you also use WinGuard, power and network data sit side by side, so you can match a connectivity drop to a power event.

What an automatic power cut-off prevents

When the voltage spikes, the SmartPDU cuts the power first and tells you second.

Burnt-out hardware

Sustained over-voltage overheats power supplies and fails capacitors — the most common way routers, switches and access points die after a surge.

Heat and fire risk

Overheating electronics in a closed rack or ceiling space are a hazard to the people around them. Cutting the power removes the heat source at once.

Days of downtime

A dead core router takes the whole site offline until it is replaced and reconfigured. With the cut-off, your equipment stays intact and ready to power back on.

How the SmartPDU fits into your site

  1. 1

    Plug in your equipment

The SmartPDU sits between the power feed and up to six devices: your router, switches, access points and modem.

  2. 2

    Connect it to the network

It reports to the WinFi dashboard. No WinGuard needed.

  3. 3

    Set your alerts

Choose who is told about power events, cut-offs and recoveries.

  4. 4

    Manage power remotely

Watch live readings and power cycle the PDU from the dashboard.

WinFi SmartPDU by industry

Built for branches and comms rooms where there is no IT person on site.

One platform, one dashboard

WinFi SmartPDU works on its own or alongside the rest of WinFi — network, guest WiFi, doors and power, managed from the same cloud dashboard.

WinFi SmartPDU FAQ

Answers to the questions we hear most often.

What is a smart PDU?

A PDU (power distribution unit) feeds power to several devices, such as the equipment in a network rack. A smart PDU adds monitoring and remote control: it measures the power going to your equipment and lets you switch it off and on remotely.

How much equipment can one SmartPDU power?

Each SmartPDU has six outlets and handles up to 16 A of current.

What happens when I power cycle the SmartPDU?

All six outlets switch off and back on together, so everything plugged into the PDU restarts — typically a router, switches, access points and an ISP modem. Plan which devices share a PDU with that in mind.

What happens during a voltage surge?

If the mains supply crosses the safe limit, the SmartPDU cuts power to all six outlets within milliseconds and e-mails you. Once the voltage is back in the safe range, you check the live readings and restore power from the dashboard.

Do I need WinGuard to use the SmartPDU?

No. The SmartPDU works on its own and is managed from the WinFi dashboard. If you also run WinGuard, you see power and network data in the same place.

How do I order a SmartPDU?

The SmartPDU is available now. Contact WinFi sales with the number of units and sites you need, and we will send you a quote.

Fix power problems without a site visit

Tell us how many sites and racks you run. We will send a quote and show you the SmartPDU in the WinFi dashboard.
